The entire SOC of an assembled battery which is an aggregate of multiple battery blocks is calculated on the basis of multiple block SOCs which indicate respective storage amounts of the multiple battery blocks. In a case (401) where the block SOC maximum value (BSmax) is higher than the control upper limit (SOCu), the entire SOC is calculated higher than the control upper limit, while in a case (402) where the block SOC minimum value (BSmin) is lower than the control lower limit (SOCl), the entire SOC is calculated lower than the control lower limit. In a case (403) where each of the block SOCs falls within the range from the control lower limit to the control upper limit inclusive, the entire SOC is calculated within the range from the control lower limit to the control upper limit inclusive.
