<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individually packaged absorbent article constituted so as to prevent the turnover or wrinkles of release paper during feed by a machine, to certainly adhere wing release paper and a packing sheet and to smoothly peel the wing release paper when opened. <P>SOLUTION: The individually packaged absorbent article includes the packing sheet 10 for individually packaging a sanitary napkin 1 and the wing release paper 12 integrally covering a pair of wing shift preventing self-adhesive layers 8 and 8 and hip shift preventing self-adhesive layers 9 and 9 in a releasable manner where wing-shaped flaps W and hip holding flaps W<SB>B</SB>are each turned over on the surface on the side of a surface sheet 3. The wing shift preventing self-adhesive layer 8 is formed so as to have relatively low self-adhesive properties on the front side of the sanitary napkin 1 and relatively high self-adhesive properties on the rear side of the sanitary napkin.
