<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation method of a washing machine which prevents moisture from remaining inside a dehydrating tub or a washing and dehydrating tub or inside gaps between the dehydrating tub, the washing and dehydrating tub, and an outer tub on completion of dehydration to prevent contamination bacteria from growing therein to keep the washing machine in a clean state for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine includes an outer case, an outer tub supported in the outer case, a dehydrating tub rotatably set in the outer tub, and a driving device and a heating means set outside the outer tub.
