<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber for acquiring high bending characteristics while keeping the affinity with existing equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In this optical fiber, a second optical fiber [2] where the outer diameter of a clad 12 is larger than that of a first optical fiber [1] is connected to one end or both ends of the first optical fiber [1] via a third optical fiber [3] where the outer diameter of the clad 12 changes in a tapered shape. In any of the first optical fiber [1], the second optical fiber [2], and the third optical fiber [3], the cutoff wavelength of single mode propagation of light is equal to or shorter than a desired wavelength. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
