PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that reliably discharges a charge remaining in a pixel electrode with a simple circuit even when power is suddenly cut-off, for example, when a battery comes off, and prevents a burn-in phenomenon or a flicker at restart. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a power cut-off detecting circuit that outputs a power cut-off signal that is H level in normal operation and changed to L level when decrease of a power-supply voltage is detected; NOR circuits 18 that are individually connected to a plurality of scanning lines GL and receive the power cut-off signal and an output signal of a vertical control circuit 13 as input and supply the output to the scanning lines; and short circuits 19 that are individually connected to a plurality of signal lines DL and short-circuit between the plurality of signal lines DL and a common potential line COM by the power cut-off signal. When the power cut-off signal becomes L level, the output of the NOR circuits 18 are changes to H level, and all of the plurality of signal lines DL are short-circuited with the common potential line COM.
