PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner that prevents a start-up stripe defect and exhibits superior initial fog characteristics and development stability in long-term use. SOLUTION: The toner contains toner particles, a fatty acid metal salt and an inorganic fine powder, and is characterized in that: the inorganic fine powder contains silica fine particles; the silica fine particles are treated with at least one of alkoxysilane and an alkoxysilazane and further treated with a silicone oil; the silica fine particles show an isolation rate of the silicone oil from the silica fine particles of ≤50 mass% on a basis of the carbon amount; and the fatty acid metal salt has a median diameter (D50) on a volume basis of 0.15 μm or more and ≤0.65 μm.
