PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymerized polyester with less contamination of a molding dice when molding is continuously performed and less generation of deposition of foreign matter on a molded article, capable of advantageously giving a molded article with a high commodity value. SOLUTION: The copolymerized polyester includes terephthalic acid as a main dicarboxylic acid component and includes ethylene glycol and neopentyl glycol as main glycol components. The copolymerized polyester is characterized in that the content of the neopentyl glycol relative to the entire amount of glycol component is >25 and≤80 mol% and the content of a free cyclic dimer comprising the terephthalic acid and the neopentyl glycol is 15,000 ppm or less.
