PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and inexpensive chain guide that has little mechanical loss. SOLUTION: The chain guide is equipped with multiple rollers 2 that make contact with a timing chain and a chain guide base 10 that comprises a pair of side plates 10a, 10b which are arranged along a direction of travel of the timing chain. A roller support shaft insertion recess 11 having an opening part at a side plate end edge facing the timing chain is provided on an opposing wall surface of the side plate 10a respectively, and a support shaft 3 of the roller 2 is inserted in the recess 11 of the side plate 10a.
