METHOD FOR CHEMICAL-THERMAL TREATMENT FOR DECARBONIZATION OF HIGH-CARBON STEELS

The invention relates to metallurgy and concerns a method for chemical-thermal treatment (decarbonization) of high-carbon steels. A method comprises the heating in furnace to 1000- and soaking and accelerated cooling. The heating and soaking are carried out in oxidizing atmosphere of furnace (HO+O+CO+N) with duration of soaking 80-120 minutes. The claimed method increases relatively wear-resistance of steel due to destabilization of austenite and its transformation into martensite of deformation at wear.
