PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of calculating an AV task, and a method and apparatus for providing summary information for calculation of an AV task.

SOLUTION: The method includes a step of requesting an AV server having a media data storage function for summary information for media data, a step of receiving the summary information from the AV server, and a step of computing an AV task using the received summary information.
