<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser welding method which enables a suitable coupling of upper and lower metal plates even when a gap is generated between the metal plates when carrying out laser welding while the two metal plates are overlapped with each other, and also to provide a laser welding device. <P>SOLUTION: A laser beam LB is relatively moved to the two metal plates W1, W2 along a predetermined welding path while irradiating the upper metal plate W1 surface with the laser beam LB. A molten pool formed by storing a molten metal through melting a portion L to be irradiated with the laser beam of the upper metal plate W1 is formed from the upper surface of the upper metal plate W1 to the lower surface thereof. At least the upper metal plate W1 of the two metal plates W1, W2 is shaken in vertical directions, so that the molten metal in the molten pool is displaced to the lower metal plate W2 side to be hung to couple the upper and lower metal plates W1, W2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
