<p>The title cpds. of formula (I): where X = Cl, F or lower alkoxy; R = H or straight or branched alkyl (1-4C); n = 2, 3 or 4; are prepd. by the reduction of a ketone gp. in the cycloalkane ring. In an example, 293 mg. 71-chloro-31-oxo spiro-(cyclohexane-1,11-indane)-5-acetic acid was treated with 3 ml. ethylene glycol, 180 mg. KOH and 0.135 ml. hydrazine hydrate to give 85% yield of (I); X = Cl; R = H; n = 2.</p> |
