PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus and a mechanism for managing content data, which copy copy-once content data as many as the number of receivers on a network, in order to save recording resources and improve convenience in consideration of copyright management. SOLUTION: During recording, a recording function of a cooperative device is limited to permit only one copy or permit copy-once content to be duplicated the number of times by subtracting "1" from the number of receivers in recordable state on a network. When the permitted number of copies is 0, contents are deleted after transferred to another device. When it is 1 or more, the permitted number of copies is reduced by "1". Between a recording device and the cooperative device, a program in a component format is exchanged for cooperation. The redundant timer recording schedules in the network are integrated.
