PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum design device for effectively performing response prediction and optimization search of an object function with respect to a design parameter by using a response curved surface model even when the number of dimensions of a design space increases with a design problem of a mixed parameter as a target and reducing a calculation amount. SOLUTION: The device includes: an input device 203 for inputting a variety of setting information including setting of an optimization design problem and function setting information for visualizing its result; an operation device 201 for performing operation based on the variety of setting information; and a display device 202 for displaying an operation result and the variety of setting information. When a setting variation of the setting space in the optimization setting problem is a mixed variable of the discrete variable and the continuous variable, the operation device 201 defines a value of a discrete variable as a standard value, fixes a combination of standard values, defines a sub setting space at a lower dimension only by a continuous variable just for the number of the case of the combination of the standard values, builds divided response curved surface models with respect to the sub design space, stores them to a storage means, and performs response prediction and optimization search of the target function with respect to the design variable by using the models.
