PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system, method and system, which is improved in homogenization of a laser beam in the high output laser application of a beam homogenizer. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a plurality of diffractive optical elements includes: a step 610 for providing a partially transmissive slide; a step 612 for providing a piece of photo-thermo-refractive (PTR) glass; a step 614 for directing UV radiation through the partially transmissive slide to impinge on the piece of PTR glass; a step 616 for exposing predetermined portions of the piece of PTR glass to the first UV radiation; a step 618 for thermally treating the exposed piece of PTR glass; and a step 620 for repeating a step for providing a second piece of PTR glass and a step for processing the piece of PTR glass using additional pieces of PTR glass.
