摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrafine-diameter continuous fiber or nonwoven fabric which is made of an aramid polymer as a principal component excellent in heat resistance, flame retardancy, chemical resistance, and insulation, and to provide the process of producing the same with high productivity. SOLUTION: The process of spinning fibers from an aramid polymer solution includes (1) dissolving the aramid polymer into a solvent with a vapor pressure of 8,000 Pa or below at a spinning temperature, (2) making a polymer solution having a viscosity of 50 Pa s or below measured by cone-type viscometer at the spinning temperature, (3) discharging the polymer solution from a nozzle having an ultrafine-diameter to produce an ultrafine-diameter continuous fiber wherein the nozzle diameter (D, unit; mm) and the air flow pressure (P, unit; mbar) satisfies formula; 2,500≤P/(D<SP>2</SP>) when the air flow accelerated by pressurization is applied to the discharged solution.
