PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that optimal electrostatic charge phase detecting processing is carried out during non-printing periods between printings, printing speed is limited by the processing time, fluctuation may occur in printing quality when ink discharging pressure and surrounding temperature change in case of not carrying out the optimal electrostatic charge phase detecting processing in a conventional inkjet printer. SOLUTION: In the inkjet recorder, high speed printing can be carried out by making it possible to select whether or not to carry out the optimal electrostatic charge phase detecting processing during the non-printing periods, and when the ink discharging pressure and the surrounding temperature change, and there may be a possibility that the electrostatic charge phase displaces from the optimal electrostatic charge phase, the possibility is notified to a user of the inkjet printer, thereby fluctuation of printing quality is prevented, in the case of selecting not to carry out the optimal electrostatic charge phase detecting processing.
