The tool has an extrusion mechanism and a holding receptacle (23) for a cartridge (32). The cartridge is pivotally attached to an extrusion device (12) about a pivot axis (27) to be movable from an extrusion position to a loading position. The mechanism has a housing wall and the holding receptacle has a front end and a rear end. The holding receptacle is bounded at the front end by an end plate (24) and at the rear end by a housing wall (20) of the mechanism, where the pivot axis extends from the end plate to the housing wall.
