PURPOSE: A solar cell and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to control the number and intervals of via holes in which through electrodes are formed, thereby controlling efficiency of collecting charges of a light absorbing layer. CONSTITUTION: The first rear electrode pattern(201) and the second rear electrode pattern(202) are separated on a substrate(100). The first insulating film is arranged between the first and second rear side electrode patterns. A light absorbing layer(300), a buffer layer(400), and a front electrode(500) are successively laminated on the second rear electrode pattern. A through electrode(600) is formed on the first rear electrode pattern.
