<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide ionic conductor based on bismuth oxide (Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>). <P>SOLUTION: The electroconductive material is composed of a bismuth-terbium-tungsten oxide solid solution represented by the general formula: Bi<SB>2x</SB>Tb<SB>2y</SB>W<SB>z</SB>O<SB>3</SB>(wherein x is 0.22<x<0.58; y is 0.35<y<0.65; z is 0<z<0.3; and x+y+z=1) having a face-centered cubic structure. It is manufactured by heating in air or in an oxidizing atmosphere at ≥900°C a starting material prepared by weighing and mixing bismuth oxide (Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>) or a compound which is decomposed into bismuth oxide on heating, terbium oxide (Tb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>) or a compound which is decomposed into terbium oxide on heating, and tungsten oxide (WO<SB>3</SB>) or a compound which is decomposed into tungsten oxide on heating at a molar ratio Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>:Tb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>:WO<SB>3</SB>of x:y:z (wherein x is 0.22<x<0.58; y is 0.35<y<0.65; z is 0<z<0.3; and x+y+z=1). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
