PURPOSE: An image display device and an operation method thereof are provided to intuitively recognize data channel information excluding an image signal and to recognize broadcasting signal image of a channel. CONSTITUTION: An input signal is received by an image display device(S510). A plurality of thumbnail images is generated based on the input signal(S520). A thumbnail image list having the generated thumbnail images is displayed on an image display device(S530). The thumbnail image list includes thumbnail images corresponding to the channel excluding an image signal.
