[Also in Divisions B8 and D2] The microencapsulation of emulsifiable oils is effected by mixing with brisk agitation the oil, a colloidal solution of an emulsifying agent or agents having an HLB about the same as the oil and possessing cross-linking groups or complexing sites and a cross-linking or complexing agent so as to form an impermeable coating round the oil droplets. Specified emulsifying agents with suitable cross-linking or complexing agents include polyvinyl alcohol with sodium borate and methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride, copolymer with gelatin, gum tragacanth, ethanolamine, ethylene diamine or polyvinyl alcohol. |
