METHOD AND RELAY STATION FOR TRANSMITTING DATA PACKET

PURPOSE: A method and relay station for transmitting a data packet are provided to reduce the burden of a server in data transmission for providing a stable and efficient multimedia broadcast/multicast service. CONSTITUTION: If a received data packet is overlapped or not decoded, a decoding unit(230) stores and decodes the received data packet. A raptor code(240) re-encodes the decoded data packet by using a raptor code. The raptor code generates the raptor code packet. A data packet re-transmission unit(250) retransmits the raptor code packet to a reception client terminal which is an end node. A layer ratio determination unit(260) differentiates the transmission rate of a raptor code packet depending on each layer according to the network circumference of a transmission path in a limited band width.
