Electrostatic powder spray system - with a baffled insulating connector to block voltage losses to the supply line

A coupling made of an insulating material, pref. PVC, for joining the supply hose to an electrostatic spray gun, where the coupling comprises a chamber with a series of annular baffles defining an axial passage of similar bore to the supply hose. Esp. for systems handling plastics powders incorporating metallic pigments, e.g. epoxy powers contg. 0.5-2% Al particles of a few micrometres dia. Some of the powder is trapped as an insulating bed between the baffles, and metal deposits about the mouth of each baffle are sepd. from one another to break the possible current path.
