According to one aspect of the present invention there is provided a process that evaluates the orientation in space of an elementary object such as a guide-wire or catheter 10 having a substantially cylindrical revolution shape in a radiography device. The device comprising a source 30 of X-rays and recording means 20 located opposite the source. The process includes the steps of:a- determination on the projection image of a quantity A of absorbed X-rays by the elementary object; andb- b- evaluation of a sine of an angle &thetas; between a longitudinal axis of the elementary object and a plane of the projection image as a function of the quantity A of absorbed X-rays.According to another aspect, a dimension dreal of the elementary object may be evaluated by first evaluating the orientation of the object as in steps a and b above then c- determination on the projected image of a projected dimension dobs, andd- determination of the dimension dreal from the evaluated orientation and determined projected dimension dobs. Furthermore the invention describes a 3D reconstruction process of an object from a series of elementary objects by for each elementary object Si, determining it orientation as previously described then determining the relative coordinates in space of Pi, of the ends (Pi-1, P1) of the elementary object S, relative to the other P,i-1, end. |
