PURPOSE: A method for detecting an eye state is provided to have high accuracy and efficiency in real time. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting an eye state with high accuracy and efficiency is as follows: a step of inputting an initial image stopped from a continuous image(S110); a step of detecting a facial area from the initial image(S120); a step of detecting eye area form a facial area(S140); a step of preliminary distinguishing eye closing and eye opening using an oval which coincides to a boundary points; a step of repeating the S110 step to the S140 step as much as preset numbers(S150); a step of distinguishing eye blinking if the calculated eye closing time is not bigger than a preset threshold time.
