PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing novel isoquinolinone derivatives for preventing and treating cancer is provided to suppress topoiromerase I. CONSTITUTION: An isoquinolinone derivative is denoted by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, L is -CH(CH_3)- or -CH_2CH_2-; and R1-R8 are independently hydrogen, C1-C7 alkyl or C1-C7 alkoxy. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating cancer contains isoquinolinone derivatives or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. The cancer is lung cancer, blood cancer, or uterine cancer.
