PURPOSE: An on-vehicle ticket examination machine and a control method thereof are provided to properly induce elevation in the on-vehicle ticket examination machine operated by opening/closing of an elevating door. CONSTITUTION: An on-vehicle ticket examination machine comprises the following units. An integrated processing unit(110) controls a getting off ticket processing unit(121) and a getting on ticket processing unit(122) which are capable of a state transition. At this time, a control mode is as follows. A getting off first mode makes the getting on ticket processing unit capable of processing a ticket and makes the getting off ticket processing unit deny a registration of a ticket. An elevation registration mode makes both the getting off ticket processing unit and the getting on ticket processing unit capable of processing a ticket and the other ticket processing unit denies a registration of a ticket while one ticket processing unit takes the ticket.
