PURPOSE: A dual type air conditioner for vehicles is provided to improve the cooling capacity of an evaporator by reduction in the temperature of refrigerant introduced to an evaporator using an internal heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION: A dual type air conditioner for vehicles comprises a compressor(10), a condenser(20), a front seat air-conditioning unit(30) equipped with an evaporator(34), a back seat air-conditioning unit(40) equipped with an evaporator(45), and an internal heat exchanger(50). The evaporator generates cool air from the refrigerant which is compressed and compacted by the compressor and the condenser. The internal heat exchanger exchanges heat between high-temperature refrigerant discharged from the condenser and low-temperature refrigerant flowing in the compressor. The refrigerant discharged from the evaporator of the front seat air-conditioning unit passes through the internal heat exchanger. The refrigerant which has passed through the internal heat exchanger is mixed with the refrigerant discharged from the evaporator of the back seat air-conditioning unit and flows in the compressor again.
