PURPOSE: A method and a system for restoring computer are provided to restore a computer at low cost by inserting a matched portable storage to the computer. CONSTITUTION: An authentication unit(240) deciphers an inherent ID code from a portable storage, and transmits the inherent ID code to a central management server with the computer ID information. The authentication unit receives the ID code from the central management server, and creates and stores the ID function value. If a user inserts a portable storage, the authentication unit creates a function value using the inherent code which is read by the portable storage, the computer ID information, and the ID code. The authentication unit compares the authorization function values, and decides the recovery of the computer.
