PURPOSE: A method for controlling a digital photographing device having a memory with a limited space, a recording medium recording the same, and a digital photographing device operating according to the same are provided to always store an image which a user desires. CONSTITUTION: A memory store an image. A counter information configuring unit(90a) forms counter information corresponding to the image. A memory capacity determining unit(90b) determines whether the memory capacity is larger than a reference capacity or not. It the memory capacity is larger than a reference capacity, an image resizing/deleting unit(90c) selectively resizes or deletes an image according to the counter information.
