<p>PURPOSE: A movable object system and method for determining the initial location of a movable object are provided to measure the inductance of a coil by applying an AC current to a stator, thereby finding the absolute location of the mover. CONSTITUTION: A mover(4) of a linear motor is made of magnet strings on a movable object. A location sensor(8) detects the location of a mover. A plurality of stators(6) is arranged among location sensors. A starter(26) finds the approximate location of a mover for a stator and the initial location of the movable object when power is supplied. The starter measures the change of inductance by adding an AC current to the stator after determining the location.</p> |
