PURPOSE: A 2-carriage inclined elevator is provided to use the existing rails, racks, and posts for an inclined elevator of double weight by employing two carriages on the elevator so as to disperse the weight. CONSTITUTION: A 2-carriage inclined elevator comprises front carriage(11) and a rear carriage(12). Driving shafts are installed in the front and rear carriages and connected to a motor. The front and rear carriages travel along a monorail by the engagement between pinion installed on the leading end of the driving shafts and rack(15) installed along the monorail. A passenger car(16) is mounted on the top of the front and rear carriages, and a carriage connecting frame(18) is installed between the lower frame(17) of the passenger car and the front and rear carriages. A cylinder is installed between the middle of the carriage connecting frame and the lower frame of the passenger car.
