PURPOSE: A sludge collector including a chain tension detecting apparatus is provided to automatically detect a chain from loosening by operating the sludge collector for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A sludge collector including a chain tension detecting apparatus comprises the following: a settling tank(1) including a hopper(11) on the front bottom of the tank; first, second, third, and fourth sprockets(21,23,24) fixed to both sides of rotatable shafts installed on the settling tank; a pair of endless chains(25) mounted on the sprockets; plural plates(26) mounted on a link member connecting the endless chains; a sludge transferring unit including a motor(27) with a driving unit(28) to rotate the rotatable shafts; a slider including a guiding groove; and a rail combined with the guiding groove.
