The method involves controlling an operation of a shredding unit i.e. spike tooth (30), of a spreader (1) at same time when solid material advances toward the shredding unit, where the shredding unit shreds the material transported by a transport belt toward the shredding unit that is driven by a secondary driving unit i.e. shaft. Reversal of advancement direction of the transport belt is controlled when driving torque of the shredding unit is limited by a torque limiter, where the belt is motor-driven by a driving unit i.e. gear motor (21). An independent claim is also included for a solid material e.g. manures, spreader, comprising a transport belt.
