PURPOSE: An auxiliary power unit for a bicycle is provided to enable energy to be stored when a rider puts the brake on the bicycle and to enable the stored energy to be selectively used. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary power unit for a bicycle comprises a storage unit(100), an input unit(200) and an output unit(300). The storage unit stores torque when a rider puts on the brake on the bicycle. The storage unit comprises a housing(110), an idle gear(130) and a storage gear(140). A spring(120) is embedded in the housing. The idle shaft(131) of an idle gear is installed on the central part of the spring. The input unit transfers the torque to the storage unit. The output unit transfers the torque in the storage unit as the torque for enabling the bicycle run. |
