PURPOSE: An alignment layer manufacturing apparatus and method thereof are provided to reduce the risk of scratching a liquid crystal display and to increase the black brightness of an alignment layer. CONSTITUTION: An orientation agent is coated on a substrate. A nano pattern mold includes a groove and a projecting unit on the orientation agent. The orientation agent is pre-cured in a state where the orientation agent and the nano pattern mole are contacted. The nano pattern mold is separated from the orientation agent. The nano pattern mold is hard-cured on an alignment layer.
