TOUCH SENSER AND TOUCH SENSING METHOD

PURPOSE: A touch sensor and a touch sensing method are provided to classify the operation of a touch button or switch into multi-stage operations and implement the multi-stage operations visually in order to enhance user convenience. CONSTITUTION: If a object contacts a pad, a sensing signal generating unit(20) delays or outputs a reference clock signal. Unless the object contacts the pad, the sensing signal generating unit outputs the reference clock signal without delay. A delay time measurement unit(40) senses the delay time between the reference signal and the sensed signal in order to output the delay time in a delay data value. A contact state determination unit(50) uses the delay data value to detect the contract operation between the contact object and the pad and perform the operation corresponding to the detected state.
