PURPOSE: A method for storing phone book data and a mobile terminal using the same are provided to improve a user's convenience by reducing the manipulation amount for storing a picture to the phone book. CONSTITUTION: A memory(160) stores phone book data and pictures. A camera(121) takes a picture. An interface unit(170) receives pictures from an external device. A control unit(180) stores a picture having a same file name with a record name in the phone book to a picture storing section of the phone book.
