The implant has a concave shaped head surface (St) on which a humeral head contacts by rotation and friction, where the head surface defines a transversal plane and a longitudinal plane (B). The head surface includes a transversal profile (Pt) in the transversal plane, and a longitudinal profile in the longitudinal plane. The transversal profile is asymmetrical with respect to the longitudinal profile. The longitudinal plane divides the head surface into a posterior zone (Zp) and an anterior zone (Za).
