<p>Separation-head to be connected to bottom of condenser has an upturned pipe with cap for vapour entry placed concentrically inside condensate outlet. Upturned pipe and cap have double walls to prevent heat transfer between condensate and vapour causing pre-condensation of vapour with consequent recycling, deleterious to heat-labile products, and also to reduce heat losses. Heat insulation is effected pref. by evacuating the space between double walls, or packing with glass-wool, and/or polishing interior surfaces.</p> |
