PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting method which eliminates welding in a site of steel pipe assembling work, is not influenced by weather, and can easily connect steel pipes. SOLUTION: This steel pipe connecting jig 1 is constituted of a joined body 2, an upper lid member 3, a lower lid member 4, an insertion hole forming member 5, a retaining member 6, and a fixing member 7. Then, the joined body 2 is made to penetrate an insertion hole 14 of the upper lid member 3 to be firmly adhered to each other, the upper lid member 3 is firmly adhered to the upper end of the first steel pipe P1, a lower lid body is formed by joining the insertion hole forming member 5 and the retaining member 6, after that, the lower lid body is firmly adhered to the lower end of the second steel pipe P2, the lengthy fixing member 7 is inserted into an insertion hole 24 of the lower lid body and a penetration hole of the joined body 2 so as to penetrate them in a state that the joined body 2 firmly adhered to the first steel pipe P1 is made to penetrate the insertion hole of the lower lid body firmly adhered to the second steel pipe P2, and thus the first steel pipe P1 and the second steel pipe P2 are extremely easily connected to each other.
