PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor maintaining a basic function without stopping a footstep and a moving handrail even when a component of a rotating body is damaged. SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor includes a line of footsteps endlessly connected and moved, a deck board arranged in parallel to the moving direction on both sides of the line of the footsteps, a see-through baluster stood on the deck board, a handrail board arranged on the baluster, a guard rail stood on the handrail board, and the moving handrail slidably supported by the guard rail and synchronously moved with the line of the footsteps. The baluster includes an inner transparent panel and an outer transparent panel closing a gap between the deck board and the handrail board. A supporting member attached to the deck board or the handrail board is disposed between the inner transparent panel and the outer transparent panel of a moving handrail newel part of the baluster, the rotary body is journaled to the supporting member, and a driving motor is provided for rotating the rotary body almost synchronously with the moving handrail.
