The present invention relates to an electric vehicle battery charging apparatus using elasticity of a spiral spring, which enables the continuous charge of batteries using the elasticity of spiral springs while an electric vehicle is traveling. To obtain the elasticity of the spiral spring, the electric vehicle battery charging apparatus comprises left and right power generating devices and left and right power transmitting devices. The left and right power generating devices comprise: devices on both sides of a vehicle, each of which includes an additional wheel, in addition to the existing wheels, installed on either side of the vehicle, a spiral spring and a gear fixedly installed on the same shaft on which each of the two wheels is disposed, and a central shaft of the devices on both sides, which include the wheels, the spiral springs and the gears, is placed at the central space between the wheels; and an auxiliary control plate installed such that the devices on both sides can cross each other vertically and horizontally and at the same time can rotate reversely to each other. Accordingly, when the spring of the device on one side is wound up by the rotation of the wheel, the spring of the device on the other side is wound down by the rise of the wheel off the ground, and thus the devises can rotate reversely and obtain kinetic energy. The left and right power transmitting devices transmit the obtained kinetic energy to the batteries through the gears coupled to the left and right power generating devices, auxiliary gears and pulleys, belts, generator pulleys, and a generator having protrusions formed at both ends thereof. Even when an electric vehicle is traveling, the batteries are continuously charged, thereby increasing the distance the electric vehicle can travel on one charge, and enabling early commercialization of electric vehicles. |
