The present invention relates to the use of an antagonist of the estrogen receptor of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. The invention also relates to the use of an agonist of the estrogen receptor of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) for the treatment of cancers and infectious diseases or for the stimulation of immunity in a vaccine therapy.
