<p>A fluid-pressure brake system (100) is characterized by being provided with a braking force generation state switching device for selectively realizing a high-pressure source pressure-dependent state in which large braking force having strength dependent on the pressure of a brake fluid from an external high-pressure source device (118) is generated and an operational force/high-pressure source pressure-dependent state in which braking force that is dependent on both the fluid pressure from the high-pressure source device and the operational force applied to a brake pedal (150) by a driver and is larger than the braking force capable of being generated in the high-pressure source pressure-dependent state can be generated. The fluid-pressure brake system enables the braking force larger than the braking force capable of being generated by the pressure of the brake fluid from the high-pressure source device to be obtained and thus has only to be equipped with the relatively low-capability high-pressure source device, thereby achieving reductions in the size and cost of the high-pressure source device.</p> |
