Disclosed is a method for data transmission between radio connected General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Tunnelling Protocol for the User Plane (GTP-U) entities, said method including: a first GTP-U entity establishes a radio bearer connection with a second GTP-U entity on radio interfaces; during the process of establishing the radio bearer connection, the first GTP-U entity and the second GTP-U entity store mapping relationships between the GTP-U connection and the radio bearer connection; the first GTP-U entity and the second GTP-U entity perform uplink and downlink transmission for the user plane data according to their respective stored mapping relationships between the GTP-U connection and the radio bearer connection. A corresponding system and entity are also disclosed. The present invention can effectively use the already matured supporting user plane to establish a path and reduces the header load of a protocol stack.
