摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling mechanism effective against overheat of a vacuum vessel and/or a vacuum vessel window due to back-scattering electrons. SOLUTION: An X-ray tube includes a vacuum vessel and an anode arranged in the vacuum vessel. The anode is structured to receive electrons emitted by an electron emitter. The X-ray tube also includes a vacuum vessel window arranged in a port of the vacuum vessel. The vacuum vessel window includes a first axis and a second axis, the former being shorter than the latter. The X-ray tube also includes a means for guiding flow of a coolant. The means for guiding the flow of the coolant makes the coolant flow over an external surface of the vacuum vessel window in a direction substantially parallel to the first axis.
