PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersant which can lower the viscosity of a slurry. SOLUTION: The dispersant contains an ammonium salt or an amine salt of a polymer containing a component unit derived from (meth)acrylic acid, an ammonium salt or an amine salt of (meth)acrylic acid, and water: and the weight average molecular weight of the polymer is 300 or higher and lower than 1,000 and the weight ratio of the (meth)acrylic acid salt to the polymer salt ((meth)acrylic acid salt/polymer salt) is 0.031 to 0.060.
