<p>A filter provided with a container (12) and a basket (26) which is contained in the container (12) and has mounted thereto a bag-like filter element (24) and filtering liquid to be processed by allowing the liquid to pass through the filter element (24). The filter is provided with an upper tubular section (34) forming the upper part of the basket (26) and having an upper end open, and also with an annular seal (46) mounted inside the container (12) and held between the upper tubular section (34) and the container (12). The upper tubular section (34) has a first fitting surface (38a) having an outer diameter decreasing downward. The seal (46) has a second fitting surface (60a) having an inner diameter which decreases downward and engaging with the first fitting surface (38a). When the seal (46) receives force acting outward radially from the upper tubular section (34), compressive deformation of the seal (46) is limited to a predetermined amount.</p> |
